Four sub-programmes
Nature and Biodiversity; Circular Economy and Quality of Life; Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation; and Clean Energy Transition. Each publishes annual calls with its own priorities.
Who can apply?
Public bodies, private companies (including SMEs) and non-profit organisations established in the EU or in associated countries. Single-beneficiary projects are possible, but partnerships often strengthen replication and impact.
Budget and co-financing
Standard Action Projects typically range from €1 million to over €5 million. The EU co-finances 60% of eligible costs as a rule, rising to 75% for certain nature priorities. Clean Energy Transition coordination actions can be funded at 95%.
Two-stage application
For Standard Action Projects, applicants first submit a short concept note. Shortlisted projects are invited to submit a full proposal. Strong concept notes clearly state the environmental problem, measurable targets and replication potential.
Frequently asked questions
